What Participants Say
Pranom Kaewsai
Civil servant, Khon Kaen ยท May 2025
I have been receiving my provident fund statement for twelve years and genuinely did not understand the fund-of-fund allocation section until this workshop. The facilitator walked through it using an actual redacted statement โ not a slide with simplified diagrams. I went home and looked at my own with different eyes. That alone made the two sessions worthwhile.
Wiroj Limthong
Secondary school teacher, Khon Kaen ยท April 2025
The compounding evenings were dense โ I will not pretend the second session was easy โ but the worksheet we built through the exercises was something I had never had before. Seeing my actual saving rate mapped against thirty years of Thai market data changed how I thought about small monthly adjustments. Worth noting: this is not a workshop for those wanting a shortcut answer.
Nantawan Chairat
Hospital administrator, Khon Kaen ยท May 2025
My husband and I came to the health and wealth weekend together. We had been having disconnected conversations about insurance and caring for my mother-in-law for two years without getting anywhere. The session gave us a shared vocabulary and a document to work from. The facilitator was clear that she was not recommending any insurance product โ which, frankly, was a relief after the seminars we had attended elsewhere.
Supachai Tanakorn
Small business owner, Mahasarakham ยท April 2025
I came for the compounding workshop, expecting something I already knew. I did not expect to spend an hour on Thai historical data specifically. That part was more interesting than I anticipated. I would have liked a slightly shorter second session โ three hours on a weeknight is a lot โ but I stayed because the content was holding my attention. The worksheet has been on my desk since.
Anchali Phongsakul
Nurse, Khon Kaen ยท May 2025
What I appreciated most was that questions were genuinely welcome during the session, not just queued for the end. I asked something mid-session that I was embarrassed to ask, and it turned out three other people in the group had the same question. The small group format really does make a difference. I left feeling less overwhelmed, which is not something I expected from a financial workshop.
Boontham Prasertchai
Retired engineer, Khon Kaen ยท March 2025
I attended the provident fund workshop after retirement because I was still not entirely clear on how my accumulated balance had been calculated over the years. The facilitator walked backwards through the statement structure patiently. I already had my fund payout, so I was mostly there out of curiosity โ but I left with a clearer picture of how the fund-of-fund choices I had made had played out over time. Useful closure.
Three Longer Accounts
These are longer case study summaries from participants who were willing to share more detail about what led them to the workshop and what changed afterwards.
The Situation
A teacher in her late 40s had been enrolled in her school's provident fund for 18 years but had never changed her fund allocation from the default. She did not understand whether the default was appropriate for her stage of career or how to even assess whether it was.
What She Did
She attended the two-session provident fund workshop with her own statement. After the first session, she understood how her employer and personal contributions had accumulated separately. After the second session, she had a clear view of the allocation change she wanted to make and the questions to ask her fund manager.
Outcome
She made one allocation change the following month โ from the default conservative fund to a balanced fund โ after understanding the implications of doing so with 15 years of working life remaining. She now reads her annual statement herself.
"I did not need anyone to tell me what to do. I needed to understand what I was looking at first." โ Participant, Khon Kaen
The Situation
A couple in their early 50s had been putting off a conversation about what would happen if one of them needed extended medical care in their 60s. They were aware they were not covered well enough but found the topic difficult to approach together.
What They Did
Both attended the health and wealth weekend workshop. The facilitator's use of a neutral worksheet โ shared household costs, healthcare coverage gaps, care scenarios โ gave them a structure to work within that did not feel like an argument or a sales conversation.
Outcome
Within three months they had reviewed their existing supplementary policies (found one to be duplicating coverage they already had through work) and drafted a care plan document to share with their adult children. No new products were purchased during or after the workshop.
"We needed a framework. The workbook gave us one." โ Participant couple, Khon Kaen
