Workshop Programmes
Three Programmes.
Three Different Conversations.
Each workshop addresses a distinct financial topic for adults in Thailand at 40+. They can be taken in any order, and each stands on its own.
โ Back to HomeHow the Workshops Are Structured
Each programme begins from a real document or a real situation rather than from abstract theory. The provident fund workshop starts with an actual Thai fund statement. The compounding programme starts with a participant's own saving rate. The health and wealth workshop starts with the family's existing healthcare coverage.
Sessions are structured to allow time for questions throughout โ not just at the end. Facilitators draw on Thai historical data, Thai regulatory frameworks, and the practical experience of working with adults across a range of employment situations in the Northeast.
Start with the real document
Work with actual Thai fund statements, saving rate calculations, or healthcare documents โ not hypothetical illustrations
Understand the structure
Facilitator explains the regulatory and institutional context behind what participants are looking at
Apply to participant's situation
Guided exercises with workbooks allow each participant to relate the material to their own circumstances
Leave with a reference document
Printed worksheet or workbook to revisit annually as circumstances change
Reading the Provident Fund Statement
A two-session workshop dedicated to reading and understanding the provident fund statements that employed adults in Thailand receive throughout their working lives. The facilitator walks through fund options, employer-and-employee contribution structures, the meaning of fund-of-fund allocations, and the considerations of changing one's allocation as a working career progresses.
Participants are invited to bring their own statements with personal identifying numbers removed. The group works through them anonymously, applying the same analytical approach to each. No personal data is shared or retained.
- Understanding fund categories and contribution ratios
- Reading fund-of-fund allocation tables
- When and how to consider changing allocation
- What happens to accumulated funds on leaving employment
The Quiet Practice of Compounding
A three-evening programme that explores compounding โ not as a marketing concept but as a slow mathematical truth that rewards patience over many years. The facilitator draws on long-running Thai and regional historical data and walks through the arithmetic of saving rates, time horizons, and the effect of small adjustments over decades.
Participants leave with a one-page personal compounding worksheet they can revisit annually. The focus is on understanding the mathematics clearly, not on reaching a specific conclusion about how to invest.
- The mathematics of saving rates over 10, 20, 30 years
- Thai and regional historical market data reviewed
- Effect of small adjustments made consistently
- One-page personal worksheet to keep and revisit
Health, Wealth, and the Conversation Between Them
A weekend workshop on the relationship between household finances and health planning at 40+. Topics include private and public healthcare considerations in Thailand, supplementary insurance, the financial planning of long-term care for ageing parents, and the patient practice of having these conversations within the family.
The facilitator is an educator, not an insurance representative. No specific products are recommended at any point. A printed workbook covering both financial and healthcare topics is provided and taken home by each participant.
- Thai public healthcare system costs and Social Security
- Supplementary insurance โ what it covers and what it costs
- Financial planning for ageing parent care
- Family conversation framework โ how to raise these topics
- Printed workbook โ healthcare and financial planning together
